Troubleshooting
Problem
Attempts to use floating license support with IBM Software Delivery Platform version 8.0 products such as Rational Software Architect for Websphere, Rational Software Architect or Rational Application Developer version 8.0 results in the error "JVM terminated. Exit code=8096" or simply a crash of the application after seeing the Progress dialog "Checking license status..." for a while.
Symptom
IBM Rational Software Architect for WebSphere version 8.0 may freeze for some time on the following dialog:
and crash after showing the following message:
You may also find a series of javacore and dump files such as javacore.20100901.102628.1060.0003.txt and core.20100901.102628.1060.0001.dmp in the installation directory of the product (by default: C:\Program Files\IBM\SDP). The javacore files contain the following information:
