Troubleshooting
Problem
User is trying to use the Controller cc.fExpVal function, to export values from an Excel spreadsheet into the Controller database. However, this is failing.
Symptom
The exact symptoms will vary slightly, depending on scenario, but in general terms:
- There is no error message
- In fact, there is typically a 'success' message ("All X values were successfully exported and the data has been saved") so the end user probably thinks that the export has been successful
- However, no data / values are actually exported into the Controller database.
Scenario #4:
In some scenarios (for example Scenario #4) the following happens:
- User clicks 'Controller - Reports - Export Data'.
- The message at the bottom briefly flickers from 'Ready' to <blank> and then back to 'Ready' again.
- In other words, it does NOT say the expected message 'Do you really want to export values to Cognos 8 Controller'.
