Troubleshooting
Problem
When you log in, the following error occurs: Cannot obtain Locale/Timezone information for your client. Assuming GMT caused by the Java applet used by the login screen.
Diagnosing The Problem
The locale and time zone information is retrieved using a Java applet that is run in your browser window. If you view the source HTML code for the page where you are experiencing this error, you will see the following html:
<applet codebase="applets" code="com.lombardisoftware.applet.i18n"
name="i18n" height=0 width=0;>
Resolving The Problem
You are getting this error if you are unable to run the applet. The most likely cause is one of the following issues:
- Your browser security does not allow you to run Java applets. To solve this issue, adjust your security settings to allow for Java applets from the teamworks server.
- Your default Java plugin for your browser is the Microsoft Java virtual machine (JVM). To solve this issue download Version 1.3 or newer of the Sun Java virtual machine.
