InfoSphere DataStage Clients fails to connect and get error "The connection is broken (81002)" but the Engine seems to be running fine

Problem

The DataStage Engine is starting normally without any errors but DataStage Clients, such as Designer and Director, fail with the error: Failed to connect to DataStage server: Hostname, project: ProjectName (The connection is broken (81002))
