Problem
This technote provides you with information about an issue that can occur when using IBM Rational ClearCase or ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC) where performance may be slow when listing VOBs and running various ClearCase commands.
Symptom
Slow performance is observed when listing VOBs or running various ClearCase commands.
If you are using CCRC or run a cleartool command outside the context of a view, you will see this issue.
Examples of cleartool commands include (but are not limited to) the following:
cleartool lsview
cleartool lsvob
cleartool lsproj
cleartool desc (if describing something that does not require a view, such as cleartool desc vob: \myvob)
