VTAM MODIFY CHKPT command results in message IST1122I code 7

Troubleshooting


Problem

When the VTAM MODIFY net, CHKPT command is entered at a VTAM network node after VTAM initialization completes and before any session setups are requested, the following error message is displayed: IST1122I CHKPT TO DATASET DSDB2 WAS NOT SUCCESSFUL, CODE= 7

Symptom

IST1122I indicates that VTAM was unable to checkpoint the APPN directory services database to data set DSDB2. The reason, as indicated by error code 7, is that there are no APPN directory services resources to checkpoint.
