The Rational Publishing Engine Installer Fails With Errors 1335 and 2350

Troubleshooting


Problem

In certain situations the IBM Rational Publishing Engine (RPE) installer can fail with one or more message boxes with error number 1335 and/or 2350, such as "Error 1335. The cabinet file 'Data1.cab' required for this installation is corrupt and cannot be used."

Symptom


Errors messages as the ones seen below can occur, once the installer has gathered all the necessary information and the installation process is in progress:
