7.0.2 iFix 5 Java API client using threads hangs on SQL Server back end

Problem

Attempts to use the IBM Rational Build Forge 7.0.2 iFix 5 Java API client threads results in a database hang when the back end uses SQL Server.

Symptom

The following errors appear in Build Forge log:

java.io.IOException: An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
