How To
Summary
If you want to change the icon associated to a large number of records in iBase the best solution is to use the "Assign Icons" function in the Edit menu.
Check the Step-by-step process below.
Objective
This document will explain how to assign an icon to a number of Entities in iBase, using the "Assign Icons" function.
Steps
The main question is whether you have a way to know what are the entities you want to change the icons.
If yes, then you must create a Query or a Set to have all these entities.
Then, in iBase User, you must go in the Edit menu, then "Assign Icons".
Then, do the following steps :
- Select the Entity type that you want to change (for example Person).
- On the right, select the Visual Query, or the Set that contains all the entities you want to change their icon
- Select the Icon you want to assign to those records
- Click on the Assign button
- Depending on the number of records to update, you can either blink, or go and grab a cup of coffee.
- Once done, check that the result is what you expect by querying some records that were previously with the wrong icon.
If you don't have a way to know what are the entities you want to change the icons, you can create a Set, and manually add all the entities you want to alter into this set.
