Problem

Why do I receive the DOORS error "Unable to read the user directory: Unable to acquire directory lock" when starting a DOORS client?

Symptom

You receive following error when starting a DOORS Client:

"Unable to read the user directory: Unable to acquire directory lock
Please try again later or contact your database manager."
