Problem
The error: ‘UpdateCcmRegistryValues: GetShortPathName failed (3)’ is received when trying to install an IBM Rational Synergy client on a Microsoft Windows machine.
Symptom
Event ID: 11708
The Synergy server is installed on the UNIX box and when trying to download and install the Synergy client using the URL http://<server_name>:port on the Windows machine, it fails with the error: ‘UpdateCcmRegistryValues: GetShortPathName failed (3)’.
