Upgrading from MQ 8.0 to MQ 9.1.4 CD in Windows

White Papers

Abstract

This techdoc provides all the necessary steps to upgrade IBM MQ 8.0 in Windows to MQ 9.1.4 Continuous Delivery (CD).
Note: MQ 9.1.4 CD was the latest release at the time the tutorial was written – the overall recommendation is to apply the most recent CD release or use the most recent LTS fix pack level.
.
The instructions are the same if you are upgrading to the release Long Term Support (LTS).
The single installation is explicitly designated as Primary.
The steps describe a standard upgrade path. They do not use the 'multi-version' feature in which several versions of MQ can co-exist ("side-by-side").
