How to plan project area or target environments appropriately for solution deployment to avoid column limitations on database tables

How To

Summary

The runtime structures for a Case Management solution are created in a 'Target object store' when a solution is deployed. These structures consists of classes and property templates that are created in a Content Platform Engine object store. A case type defined in a solution is created as a class in an object store. For a particular class, the properties for the class and its subclasses are created in a single database table. If there are many properties in a solution, and all of the properties are mapped to a single or multiple case types in a solution, then all of those properties become columns in a database table. Depending on the database type, there are limits to the number of columns in a database table. If a solution is large, or if there are multiple solutions with many properties, the column limit on a table might be reached or exceeded.
