Troubleshooting
Problem
After using KB document 83901 to create a Julian-to-date function the user sees this function on the Query panel but when he creates a calculated column with it the report fails with the following
Symptom
Error number -239:
DMS-E-GENERAL, A general exception has occurred during operation 'prepare request'.
DMS-E-DBPARSER, The underlying database detected an error during processing of the SQL request.
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Operand data type numeric is invalid for modulo operator.
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Operand type clash: int is incompatible with void type
[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Statement(s) could not be prepared.
The datatype in the profile is packed decimal. This problem only happens when the report is run against a replica of the database on an MS SQL server. It runs fine against the original database on an AS400. Trying to force the issue by multiplying the field by numeric '1' made no difference. The report runs OK with a calculated column using the packed field multiplied by an interger number.
