Abstract

Was Maximo Calibration 7.5 properly installed? Where are my Maximo Calibration applications?

Body

Hello everyone! I want to share something that I have learned regarding the Maximo Calibration 7.5 Industry Solution with you. If you are wondering if your Maximo Calibration 7.5 was properly installed or where your Calibration applications/modules in Maximo 7.5 environment, then Google search led you to the right place (or blog)!

Maximo Calibation 7.5 is already included in the base code for Maximo so when you do the install of the said industry solution, you are actually just activating the license so that you can use it.

There are three (3) ways to check if Maximo Calibration 7.5 was installed in your Maximo directory structure:

1. Using the <install_home>\maximo\applications\maximo>version.bat/.sh

2. Using the <install_home>\bin>solutioninstaller -action showinstalled -type all

3. Using the <install_home>\CTG_DE\acsi\bin>listIU.cmd/.sh

To learn more about this three commands, please see the following technote here.

Now if you want to make sure that your Maximo Calibration exists in your database, you can run the following query against your database:

Select varname, varvalue From maxvars Where varname='DBCALIBRATION' ;

-This will return the DBCALIBRATION and its version if Maximo Calibration exists in your database.

You can also run the following query if you want to see all the components that is existing in your database:

Select varname, varvalue From maxvars Where varname Like '%DB%' Or varname LIke '%UPG%' ;

-Check if "DBCALIBRATION" is there to make sure Maximo Calibration is installed.

Okay, so now you made sure that you have Maximo Calibration 7.5 in your Maximo folder structure and in your database. WHY IS THERE NO APPLICATION THAT HAS "(Cal)" BESIDE IT LIKE FOR SOME INDUSTRY SOLUTIONS LIKE TRANSPORTATION? An example of an application for Transportation is the below application:

To answer that question, there would be no application that has "(Cal)" in it because it is already embedded in the code and the Calibration installation just enabled it. To learn that the application has Calibration in it, you will see a Calibration Checkbox just like in the picture below:

And there you go folks! That is how you would know if Maximo Calibration is installed and is usable in your environment.
