This Railway Company upgrades their total Watson IoT solution infrastructure with deeper engagement from IBM Accelerated Value Program for Watson Internet of Things (IoT)

A cross-brand AVP client outperforms with Watson IoT, Systems, Analytics, Commerce, Security and Digital Experience.

 

Business Challenge:

This Railway Company needed to upgrade their IoT Solution environment which was end of support as they were on extended support for:
           
> Maximo 7.1.1.13
           
> Asset Configuration Manager 7.1.1.2
           
> Transportation 7.1.1.1
           
> WebSphere Application Server 6.1


The project could face financial impact evaluated at $1.3M if the project was to be delayed.
The project team needed to remove show stoppers for Go-Live Maximo 7.1 upgrade to 7.6 with strategic focus in narrowing issues and addressing BDI performance.

 

IBM Solution:

            > Task force with L3 to address 30+ PMR’s issues.

            > Daily and weekly status updates to address performance issues.

            > Engagement of on-site Lab Services.

            > Planning of additional two days workshop scheduled for end of Q3.

The Accelerated Value Leader works closely with client to act as their advocate within IBM to ensure their business goals move forward and avoid financial impacts.

 

Critical to the CLIENT infrastructure were upgrade projects for Maximo, Asset Configuration Manager, Transportation, and WebSphere Application Server. With the leadership team of AVL and AVS, they were able to deliver proactive planning, escalation and project management, to increase productivity by driving the project upgrades successfully.


This client have a deep understanding of their technical environment, and the AVP team commitment was key with regularly scheduled check-points to discuss high priority issues and project milestones.
