Some websites do not appear (or work) as originally intended (example Script Errors), when embedded inside the Controller background (by using the parameters 'ENABLESTARTPAGE' and 'startpageurl'), caused by APAR PI71008

Troubleshooting


Problem

Customer has implemented the background customisation technique, using the parameters 'ENABLESTARTPAGE' and 'startpageurl'.
  • TIP: For more details, see separate IBM Technote #374611.
However, the embedded website does not look/work exactly as intended.
  • For example, there may be errors (or loss of functionality).

Symptom

The symptom will vary depending on website, but in general terms some/all of the following may occur:
  • Script errors:

  • Buttons/drop-down menu items may not work (compared to running the same website inside a dedicated modern brower like Chrome or Firefox).
