Abstract
From the Maximo Support Desk - Minimal Map Manager Configuration To Resolve Errors in Maximo Everyplace Applications
Body
Maximo Users have reported seeing an out-of-the-box error message when using Everyplace applications and various other applications. Users are presented with
an error message while navigating to the Everyplace applications (Everyplace Technician (Lite), Everyplace Technician
(Phone), Everyplace Technician (Tablet), and Everyplace Supervisor):
"BMXAT0284E - The map component cannot be configured because the Map
Manager configuration for the current user default insert site was not defined. Specify the default
insert site in the Map Manager application."
The following procedures are necessary to minimally configure the Map Manager in an out-of-the-box scenario to resolve this error.
-Go To Administration | Map Manager
-In the Map field press Enter
-Click UXMAPMAN
-Click the checkbox for "Enable Map?"
-Sign out, then sign back in
Secondly, add a new row in the Map Manager application and just enter the minimum required information.
-Go To Administration | Map Manager
-In the Common Actions pane, click New Map Manager
-A Map number will auto-populate, click the checkbox for Enable Map
-In the Sites section click the Select Sites button
-In the Select Sites dialog click the checkbox for the Site(s) that are using the Everyplace applications in which you are getting the error message
-Click OK
-Save the record
After the above configuration, it's also possible that some of the Users' Default Sites are not set up yet in the Map Manager and this may cause an error message as well. To resolve this:
-From Administration | Map Manager, open the Map record that you created and add New Rows for each Site that is used as a Default Site for any Users in the System. You can also click the Select Sites button and click the checkbox for all of the appropriate Sites, then Save the record.
Please note that there is a current analysis of this condition to determine what the best "out of the box" configuration should be to avoid displaying this error entirely.
