Issues performing FileNet Content Platform Engine upgrade from 5.2.0.x to 5.5.3

Troubleshooting


Problem

Customers after performing an upgrade of FileNet Content Platform Engine from 5.2.0.x to 5.5.3 using Configuration Manager, encounter issues post deployment. These issues occur after restarting the Application Server or when trying to access the P8 domain.

Symptom

Following are some of the errors that might occur after executing the deploy application task and restarting the application server:

  • "ENG FNRCC0191E - ERROR MethodName: crypto, PrincipalName: ERSFNP8ADM01, GlobalTxn: false, UserTxn: false, ExceptionMsg: Content Engine failed to encrypt or decrypt data by using the encryption key information that is stored in the "Domain" object store. Message was: No transformation given
  • com.filenet.api.exception.EngineRuntimeException: FNRCC0191E: CONTENT_CRYPTOGRAPHIC_OP_FAILED: Content Engine failed to encrypt or decrypt data by using the encryption key information that is stored in the "Domain" object store. Message was: No transformation given"
  • In the p8_server_error.log
