Spine Version for RTM 10.2

Question & Answer

Question

After upgrade RTM to 10.2, is it also required to upgrade spine version?  What spine version to use?

Cause

Spine version should go along with cacti version.

Answer

If you have spine enabled in RTM 9.1.x and 10.1.0.x, after upgrade to RTM 10.2, you also need to upgrade spine version as well.
RTM 10.2 uses cacti version 1.2.4, while previous RTM versions use cacti 0.8.8x.  The spine version should be of the same major version of cacti.  Therefore, for RTM 10.2, we recommend to use spine 1.2.4+, the latest being 1.2.7.
Note, if you upgrade RTM OS, also you need to rebuild spine on the new OS even if use the same spine version.
