Abstract
IBM Content Navigator Edit Service will not automatically check in/cancel check out for all document types after the document is closed.
Content
Whether IBM Content Navigator Edit Service can automatically check in the document changes and cancel check out the document, depends on the application used to open and edit the document. If the application locks the document when it opens the document, IBM Content Navigator Edit Service can automatically check in the document changes to the repository, promote document version and cancel check out of the document automatically after the document is closed.
For example, if the user opened a document with IBM Content Navigator Edit Service with local Office or Adobe Acrobat Pro DC application, then after the document is closed and finished editing, IBM Content Navigator Edit Service can automatically check in the document changes, promote document version and cancel check out of the document from IBM Content Navigator web.
If the user opened a document with IBM Content Navigator Edit Service with local Notepad or Windows Photo Viewer application, then IBM Content Navigator Edit Service will check in the changes every time the user saves the contents with these applications and it will not automatically promote document version and cancel check out of the document. The user will need to cancel out of the document from IBM Content Navigator web.
