IBM Support

Macro error: "Impromptu: Internal Automation Error. Please call customer support." saving IMR as PDF

Troubleshooting

Problem

CognosScript Editor v.6.1.7.0 Description: Trying to save an Impromptu report as PDF to "C:\test:report.pdf" using a macro. Getting the following error message: TESTMAC!Main(10)-R440 "Impromptu: Internal Automation Error. Please call customer support." Solution: It is not possible to use a back slash (/) in a file name. The characters that cannot be used in a filename on a Windows platform are as follows: \ / : * ? " < > | The easiest way to find this out is to create a new .txt file on your desktop (so that you don't try renaming any needed files). Right-click on that file and select Rename. Type in a/a.txt for the file name. You will receive the following error message: A filename cannot contain any of the following characters: \ / : * ? " < > |
