Excel cells blank (fGetVal cells return values of 0 zero) when use F9 to run Excel link report, when using Optimise2 (ERO) with Oracle, caused by not previously clearing tables using ORA_DYNAMIC_TEMP = OPTIMIZE

Troubleshooting

Problem

User opens an XLSX spreadsheet report. User logs onto the Controller Excel link, and presses F9 (to run/refresh report).
The report starts running. After a while (for example a few seconds) the report finishes running. All the cells (which contain fGetVal formulae) change to zero (0) even though they should contain data values.
Problem only affects spreadsheets that have Enhanced Reporting Optimisation (Optimise2) enabled.

Symptom

Excel spreadsheet report fGetVal formulae results are all zero.
  • There is no error message.
