IBM DataPower Gateway Debug Probe may fail to attach to debugger when used in conjuction with User Agent HTTP Proxy configuration

Troubleshooting


Problem

When enabling the Debug Probe on an IBM DataPower Gateway service, such as the Multi-Protocol Gateway, the service may fail to attach to the debugger if the service's associated XML Manager has a User Agent HTTP Proxy policy configuration present with a wildcard match.

Symptom

In the service logs, the following warning messages will be seen:
20190927T165915.262Z [0x00340027][multistep][warn] mpgw(test): tid(8480)[request][x.x.x.x] gtid(2e4ac4675d8e3fe300002120): Multistep Probe enabled
20190927T165915.268Z [0x83a00057][xsltmsg][warn] mpgw(test): tid(8480)[request][x.x.x.x] gtid(2e4ac4675d8e3fe300002120): Debug: Could not connect to debugger.
