IBM DataPower Gateway Standby-Control Self-Balancing and Cisco ACI

Troubleshooting

Problem

The IBM DataPower Gateway offers the capability to self-balance load among a Standby-Control group. This functionality is called Standby-Control Self-Balancing.
This functionality has been known to cause issues when trying to integrate a self-balanced cluster of DataPower gateways into a Cisco ACI network.  Therefore, DataPower Standby Control Self-Balancing is NOT supported with Cisco ACI network.

Symptom

The primary DataPower might begin to receive all the traffic and does not self-balance to the other members.  Also, from the Cisco ACI perspective, the VIP might appear with different MAC addresses.
