IBM Support

No automatic pattern recognition in Rule Designer for ODMoC subscriptions deployed on automationcloud.ibm.com

Troubleshooting

Problem

The same version of Rule Designer is used with both Operational Decision Manager on Cloud (ODM on Cloud) and Cloud Pak for Business Automation as a Service (CP4BAssS) 2024.07. ODMoC subscriptions can be provisioned on the CP4BAaaS domain (automationcloud.ibm.com). Care must be taken in providing a domain to link Rule Designer to an ODM on Cloud tenant:
  • bpm.ibmcloud.com: This domain only works with the ODM on Cloud environment.
  • automationcloud.ibm.com: This domain is used for both environments: ODM on Cloud or CP4BAaaS.

Resolving The Problem

See the instructions for installing Rule Designer in Eclipse:
After you install Rule Designer, do the following steps:
  1. Open eclipse.ini.
  2. Add the following code:
    -vmargs
    -Dcom.ibm.rules.studio.cloud.contextRootType=odmoncloud
  3. Save your changes.
  4. Restart Eclipse.
