Question
An 'nmake not recognized' error is encountered while building a Logiscope C++TestChecker project.
Answer
While building a Logiscope C++TestChecker project the following error may be seen:
"ERROR : nmake is not recognised as an internal or external command operable program or batch file".
This error occurs when the value for an Environment variable "PATH" is not set appropriately. This can be resolved by following the steps listed below:
- Select the Start Menu --> Control Panel --> System
- In the system properties window, select the Advanced tab
- Click on environment variables button and add a new variable "PATH" and set its value to
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Tools\WinNT; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\MSDev98\Bin; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\Common\Tools; C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\VC98\bin;"
However, if the PATH variable already exists, simply append the above mentioned values to the existing list.
