New features and other changes in IBM DevOps Code ClearCase version 11.0.1.x

ClearCase AI Assistant

Added the DevOps Code ClearCase® AI Assistant, which helps you find answers by semantically searching internal ClearCase documentation through queries. It runs locally as a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server and exposes the search_clearcase_docs tool, so AI extensions can retrieve answers directly. It also works with several Integrated Development Environments (IDEs), including Visual Studio, VS Code, Eclipse, and IntelliJ. You can access the AI assistant through both ClearCase Remote Client (CCRC) and full ClearCase installations. For more information, see IBM Documentation.

MCP server updates

The ClearCase MCP server now includes AI-assisted tools for code generation and code review. The code generation tool checks out a file before generating changes and checks in back in to the VOB afterward, ensuring normal ClearCase workflow is maintained. The code review tool compares the current version with the appropriate predecessor version and applies configured coding standards while reviewing the code.

TLS cipher configuration updates

Java-only clients can now use the new com.ibm.rational.clearcase.transport.tls.cipherfile system property at JVM startup to specify the location of a custom TLS cipher configuration file.

All default and custom cipher names are now automatically validated for enablement using both SSL_ and TLS_ prefixes.

rcleartool 

Architectural enhancements that significantly improve the overall performance of rcleartool.

Support for IntelliJ IDEA

The DevOps Code ClearCase® integration with IntelliJ IDEA allows you to perform basic ClearCase operations, such as login and logout, for all view types: Dynamic, Snapshot, Web, and Automatic on both Windows and Linux platforms. For more information, see the technote 7281076.

Integrating ClearCase with DevInt API updates

Added a new set of Developer Integration APIs (DevInt APIs) to enhance ClearCase operations.

Updates in VS Code

Added a UI improvement in Microsoft Visual Studio Code (VS Code) that shows the current UCM activity in the IDE. For more information, see technote 7231171.

Integrating Windows Explorer with DevInt API 

Windows Explorer now provides a new modernized GUI for ClearCase operations and adds support for WAN view types.

• Web and Automatic views: Connect, Disconnect, Check In, Check Out, and Add to Source operations are enabled.

• Dynamic and Snapshot views: Check In, Check Out, and Add to Source operations are available after enabling the Enable DevInt option from the Windows Explorer context menu. 

Jenkins upgrade

• ClearCase 11 supports Jenkins LTS 2.462.3 and 2.555.1.
• If you choose to maintain your environment on Jenkins LTS 2.462.3 using Java 11, you must manually generate and install the compatible dependencies before installing the ClearCase plugin. For more information, see technote 7274752.
• The ClearCase Jenkins plugin is also compatible with Jenkins LTS 2.555.1 running on Java 21.
• The DevOps Code ClearCase plugin is compiled using Java 11.
• Jenkins upgrade is applicable to ClearCase 11.0.1 and later fix packs. Older fix packs can continue using the older Jenkins versions shipped in the release.
• Both Windows and Linux platforms are supported.

Eclipse 4.37 

The ClearTeam Explorer for Eclipse IDE and the ClearTeam Explorer Extension now support Eclipse versions 4.6 to 4.37.

Red Hat Pacemaker support

Installation Manager requirements across platforms 
(effective from ClearCase 11.0.0.3)

• For Windows (win_x86_64) and Linux (linux_x86_64), Installation Manager version 1.10 is required.
• For AIX, Linux (linux_ppc64le and linux_s390x), either Installation Manager version 1.10 or version 1.9 can be used.
• For HP-UX and Solaris, Installation Manager version 1.9 is required, as version 1.10 is not supported on these platforms.
• For a SPARC Solaris 8 branded zone, Installation Manager 1.7.2 is the only version supported on Solaris 8.

Base ClearCase/ClearQuest Perl integration

We have committed to keep the base ClearCase/ClearQuest Perl integration in the ClearCase release through the calendar year 2026.

Status of the feature level
