Troubleshooting
Problem
For NPF to open the QUEUE.DATA for input, QUEUE.DATA cannot be an empty file. If it is empty, NPF cannot open it, and NPF initialization fails.
Cause
The QUEUE.DATA file has not been initialized.
Resolving The Problem
You must initialize the QUEUE.DATA file to contain a record of binary zeroes. Use the macro EZAPPFL TYPE=INITIAL to load the file with a record of binary zeroes.
Refer to Running the EZAPPFL Macro, in the zOS Communications Server IP Network Print Facility documentation.
