Network configuration of a backup node on Amazon Web Services (AWS)

Abstract

Ensure that the network configuration on the backup node is same as that of the primary node before you activate a backup node on the AWS.

Content

After you backup a primary node, complete the following configuration steps on AWS:

1. Before you apply the snapshot of the primary node on the backup node, make sure to assign the same IP details of eth0, eth1, and eth2 of the primary node.
2. Remove the primary node.
3. Edit the eth0 IP of the backup node and reconfigure it with the eth0 IP of the primary node.
4. Detach the existing eth1 and the eth2 interfaces of the backup node and attach the eth1 and eth2 interfaces of the primary node to the backup node.

This backup node now comprises of the same network configuration as that of the primary node.
