Question
Mapping a NetServer network drive fails on Windows 10 with message: The specified network name is no longer available. Mapping from System i Navigator fails with message: Network error with \\path, error code 0x80004005 unspecified error. Mapping with the Net Use command fails with message: System error 64 has occurred.
Answer
After a Windows 10 update you may see message:

Text version:
The mapped network drive could not be created because the following error has occurred:
You can't connect to the file share because it's not secure. This share requires the obsolete SMB1 protocol, which is unsafe and could expose your system to attack.
Your system requires SMB2 or higher.

A communications trace revealed that Windows 10 was requesting to map the drive using SMB2 and IBM i 7.2 did not currently support SMB2. See technote N1022198 for added SMB2 support on IBM i 7.2.
IBM i 7.1 and older have no support for SMB2.
