Abstract
Netcool/Proviso v4.4.3 and Netcool/Proviso Application Packs v4.3U for network performance management are now available. Now it’s easier than ever to manage and extend Netcool/Proviso for VoIP, Metro Ethernet, VPNs or IPTV.
Major improvements to consumability, including LaunchPad, Topology Editor, and Deployer, make it much easier to configure and manage Netcool/Proviso and Application Packs across multiple systems. As a result, customers can more quickly realize the benefits of managing their network services, even in very large and complex environments. The bottom line is faster time to value and increased ROI.

Scalable network performance management is now easier to manage
New platform support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4, for the SNMP Data Collector (only) helps reduce deployment costs.
Netcool/Proviso Application Pack release V4.3U is a re-release of all the Netcool/Proviso application packs (note 2 exceptions in description below), adapted for the new installer provided in Netcool/Proviso V4.4.3.
Netcool/Proviso Application Pack release V4.3U includes a new application pack with support for Acme Packet. It uses the historical performance statistics generated by Acme Packet platforms to generate reports aimed at improving end-customer satisfaction through faster problem resolution and adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Both SNMP and the historic performance statistics mechanism are supported, providing great scalability and more detailed information than is available through an SNMP-only interface. The file transfers are configured via the Acme Packet command line interface (ACLI) or Acme Packet’s Net-Net EMS management tool and run automatically on configured intervals, providing a high degree of flexibility.
The Nortel CS2K Application Pack V4.3U fixes a high-severity problem in V4.3T. Customers should upgrade.
The entitlement licensing has changed, especially the Proof of Entitlement in sections 6 through 16.
