Technical Blog Post

Abstract

MTX segment greater than 1024 characters fails to export. EDI-0110 Incorrect Element Format

Body

Base install Director product has an segment length limitation of 1024 characters.

The MTX segment included in some 850 POs can be much longer by EDI standards (>4,000 chars).

The Server product supports 5120 chars.

For Director, new STBRK and GSBRK break maps were built with an enlarged 5120 character limit.

Testing has also revealed that in order to make use of the new limit, the TX32.exe module must have been compiled in 2012 or later

To summarize what is necessary for a large mtx segment to be handled:
a. TX32.exe compiled in 2012 or newer
b. GSbrk.tpl compiled Aug 27, 2018
c. STbrk.tpl compiled Aug 27, 2018
