In MQ 7.x, setting MQS_REPORT_NOAUTH in WebSphere MQ (WMQ) does not cause topic authority failure to be written to the queue manager error logs.
In MQ 7.x, MQS_REPORT_NOAUTH=TRUE has been set for the queue manager environment but authorization failures for topic authority are not written to the queue manager error log.
In MQ 7.x, the product is behaving as designed since the code to report topic authorization failures for MQS_REPORT_NOAUTH has not been written.
Resolving The Problem
a) In MQ 7.x, set the environment variable MQSAUTHERRORS=TRUE to cause FDC files to be generated in /var/mqm/errors.
Using MQSAUTHERRORS to generate WMQ FDC files related to RC 2035
b) In MQ 8.0, the error message for Pub/Sub failure was added.
The following error message will be generated for topic authority issues in MQ 8:
Entity <insert_3> has insufficient authority to access topic string
10 : Warning
The specified entity is not authorized to access the required topic.
The following permissions were requested: <insert_5>
Ensure that the correct level of authority has been set for this
entity against appropriate topic objects, or ensure that the entity is a
member of a privileged group.
The code changes for this for this feature cannot be backported to MQ 7.5 because of some technical restrictions.
We would suggest the customer to upgrade MQ to 8 to take advantage of this feature.
