Problem
This document describes the steps needed to move the contents of Tivoli Storage Manager server DISK volume from one location to another.
Resolving The Problem
The following steps can be done to move a disk storage pool volume from one location to another.
- Update all existing disk storage pool volumes to readonly using the 'Update Volume' command.
- Create the new disk storage pool volume on the desired location using the 'Define Volume' command.
- Move all the data off the existing volumes that you wish to move to the new location using the 'move data' command.
- Delete the volumes once they are empty using the 'delete volume' command.
Notes:
- You can use the help utility within the Tivoli Storage Manager server to get help on all the above commands.
