Answer

To modify menu labels (i.e. change label for menu "Start Center" to "Production Start Center"), follow these steps:

1.) Go to application designer - action menu -> export System xml -> export the library xml file by clicking on the Export XML arrow to the right.

2.) When you click on the export xml arrow, the library xml file will open in an IE browser window. Save the file on your hard drive.

3.) Open the library xml file in wordpad and change the label for Start Center (or any other label) to what you prefer and save the file.

4.) Import the file that you just saved by going to application designer and clicking on the import icon (5 icons to the right of new application definition icon).

5.) Select the saved file and click ok. After the file has been loaded, you will get a message stating it was loaded successfully.

6.) Logoff of Maximo, close the browser, and logon on again. You should see that label for Start Center has changed.
