Question

How to model the enumeration data type in IBM Rational Tau?

Answer

To model the enumeration data type in Tau follow the below steps:

  1. Use the Primitive/Enumeration data type symbol to get the Primitive/ Enumeration symbol (only primitive stereotype appears on the symbol initially) on the class diagram.
  2. Name the Enumeration data type
  3. Enter the literals (now the enumeration stereotype is applied to the data type)
  4. Enumeration data type is created and can be viewed in the model view as well. See the screen shot below for reference:
