Missing SQLDBCONF and SQLDBCON files throws -5005 error

Troubleshooting


Problem

SQL5005C error is thrown when an application attempts to retrieve the database configuration file, SQLDBCONF or its backup, SQLDBCON if they are not to be found on the filesystem.

Symptom

The following messages can be seen in the db2diag.log when DB2 attempts to access these files:
