Troubleshooting


Problem

During the Data Protection for Microsoft SQL installation, there is an error message indicating the Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Management Objects install failed.

Symptom

Following error message is displayed during installation:

    The installation of Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Management Objects
    12.0.2000.8(x64) appears to have failed. Do you want to continue
    the installation?

Cause

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 is not installed.

Environment

Windows 2008 R2

Resolving The Problem

Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 installation pops up automatically during Data Protection for Microsoft SQL installation if no existing .Net Framework is installed on the operation system. If it is not popped up, locate Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5 package in the installation image .....ISSetupPrerequisites\{72D7E3D1-C9DF-4FA6-9F9B-4E5117AB2919}\dotNetF
x45_Full_x86_x64.exe and install it. Afterwards install Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Management Objects.
