The Microsoft Project XML schema needed for the sample packages is missing

Troubleshooting


Problem

When you use XML Data Configuration to open the msproject.xdc file in the RI_InstallDir\dataconfig\configs\Configurations\ or RI_InstallDir\dataconfig\configs\live data config\ folder, you get the following error in the Problems view: Cannot get the schema of resource: MSPData

Cause

Rational Insight does not provide the Microsoft Project XML schema file which is used in the XML data configuration files for the sample ETL models and the sample operational metadata model for Microsoft Project XML files.

Resolving The Problem

Download the Microsoft Project XML schema, included in Microsoft Project 2007 SDK, from the Microsoft website, save the file on the local system, and change the the msproject.xdc file to point to the saved file.
