Question & Answer
Question
What is the naming convention for XML files created by Message Tracking ?
Cause
Maximo Integration Framework provides the ability to track the dataflow between Maximo and External Systems.
This functionality can be set in the Enterprise Services, for Inbound transactions and in the Publish Channels for Outbound transactions.
For both applications, under the Select Action menu, there is the "Message Tracking" option, and by clicking this option a dialog is shown.
Enable Message Tracking checkbox - Enables the Message Tracking for a specific Publish Channel or Enterprise Service.
Store Message checkbox - When true, all transactions will be stored in XML files, in the MEA Global Dir, under the TXNDATA folder.
Stored XML files Naming Convention
All XML files will be created based in the following convention:
SenderSystemName_IntegrationComponent_UniqueId.xml
For Enterprise Services Tracking (Inbound Transactions), the Sender System is the External System name.
For Publish Channels Tracking (Outbound Transactions), the Sender System is Maximo system. defined in the MAXVAR MXSYSID. The Default value is "MX"
It is possible to verify the current Sender System Name by running the following query:
SELECT VARVALUE FROM MAXVARS WHERE VARNAME = 'MXSYSID'
Stored Messages example:
EXTSYS1_MXASSETInterface_0098833112.xml
or
MX_MXASSETInterface_88773552.xml
