IBM Support

Message Extractable Count set to 1 by default

Question & Answer

Question

How to change the default mailbox extractability count of a message added to a mailbox during SFG routing?

Cause

When a SFG (Sterling File gateway) message is routed to an initiating consumer, the message is placed on the consumer mailbox for the partner to pick-up, that message is by default assigned an extractability count of 1

Answer

The SFG Business Process (BP) that adds the message to the consumer mailbox is the FileGatewaySendMessage BP
This BP can be edited and the extractability count can be modified by changing this assign statement.

<assign to="FG/ExtractableCount">1</assign>

Please note that any changes made to the default BP will impact ALL trading partners who are using this BP for mailboxing,

To change the mailbox extractability for certain partners, develop a custom protocol that is associated to a BP that uses the Mailbox Add service to add the message to the consumer mailbox with the required extractability parameters.

For information about how to add a customer protocol to SFG, please refer to the SFG documentation, Review the chapter: System Administrator Help => Extending the capabilities
