Problem

Using the RMVRDBDIRE command to remove the *LOCAL Relational Database Directory entry results in the following message: CPA3E01 - Removing the *LOCAL directory entry may cause loss of configuration data.

Resolving The Problem

Using the RMVRDBDIRE command to remove the *LOCAL Relational Database Directory entry results in the following message: CPA3E01 - Removing the *LOCAL directory entry may cause loss of configuration data.

Message CPA3E01 is also received when selecting Option 4=Delete on the *LOCAL entry from the WRKRDBDIRE menu.

Before deleting the *LOCAL RDB, use the IBM OS/400 command CHGDDMTCPA, <F4> to prompt, and record the TCP information for DDM connections.
Then, delete the *LOCAL RDB entry.
Recreate the *LOCAL directory entry.
Finally, run the CHGDDMTCPA command, press F4 to prompt, and verify the entries have not changed.
If changed, return the entries to their original values, as desired.
