Diagnosing The Problem
Message BRM1426:
Mount volumes &1 on devices &2. (C G)
Cause . . . . . : Restore operation needs volumes &1 to be mounted in the
order specified on devices &2.
Recovery . . . : Do one of the following:
-- Type C to cancel the operation.
-- Mount the first volume, then type G to continue the operation.
1. | Issue command DSPTAPSTS to ensure that the volume was mounted in a drive within the tape library being used. WRKMLMBRM or WRKTAPGTG commands can be used to verify that the volumes are in the tape library and have a valid status. |
2. | On the 'Select Recovery Items' screen that displays with command STRRCYBRM ACTION(*RESTORE), issue F9 to review the recovery defaults. Ensure that the device listed is the one being used for recovery. Verify that the 'Parallel device resources' is set to the correct min and max resources. |
3. | If there are multiple tape libraries on the system, ensure each library has a unique location. Command WRKDEVBRM can be used to view the devices. Use Opt 5 to display and review the location of each tape library. |
4. | Use command WRKMEDBRM to review the volumes needed for recovery. Verify that the location of the volumes match the location of the tape library used for restore. If they do not, select Opt 8 to move them to the storage location of the tape library performing the restore. |
Retry the restore operation after resolving any of the above issues.
