Question & Answer
Question
My RRD file size is 57GB, and the Web server has 128GB, is it enough for the database?
Answer
The Web Server memory at roughly the number size of all your RRD files will provide the best performance.
This location is /opt/cacti/rra/* and /opt/cacti/log/*. First purge the old RRDfiles, and then perform a 'du -hs' on those directories, total the space, and that should be your new size. We saw 57GB before purging, so a 128GB server for the database will be more than enough.
