Question

MCS - Where do I set JAVA_HOME CATALINA_HOME and COMERGENT_SDK_HOME when running multiple applications on the same server?

Answer

In some circumstances there can be a need to clarify the "home variables" for MCS. For instance another application may be running on the same server with a different version of java. To deal with the issue of multiple environments working together the following settings can be implemented as required. Sterling Support suggests caution and emphasizes that all of these may not apply to a given situation.

Set JAVA_HOME and COMERGENT_SDK_HOME in:

[sdk_home]/sdk.bat

Set JAVA_HOME and CATALINA_HOME in:

[tomcat_home]/bin/startup.bat

[tomcat_home]/bin/catalina.bat

Set CATALINA_HOME in:

[tomcat_home]/bin/shutdown.bat

Set JAVA_HOME in:

[tomcat_home]/bin/setclasspath.bat
