Maximum record length read by IBM SPSS Statistics

Problem

I need to read in an ASCII data file with very long records. What is the longest record length SPSS Statistics can read with the DATA LIST command? I am currently getting one of the following error messages when I run my DATA LIST command: >Warning # 1100 >A data element conversion on the indicated command will go past the end of >the record. Check the data list and the data file. The result has been >set to the system-missing value. >Warning # 1116 >Under LIST input, insufficient data were contained on one record to fulfill >the variable list. Remaining numeric variables have been set to the >system-missing value and string variables have been set to blanks. >Warning # 522 >An unexpected end of file has been found in the middle of reading a case. >The partial case will be ignored. Check your input for a possible missing >record.
