Maximo 7.6 Performance Best Practice Guide

Body

If you are familiar with this guide for previous versions of Maximo, it is a recommended best practice that it is referred to regularly for general system tuning and performance.

Maximo Best Practices for System Performance 7.6.x v1.3.pdf

Having a quick skim through this there are quite a few changes in all areas, so it is highly recommended you review these for your existing environment or if you plan to upgrade to Maximo version 7.6 to ensure your system is performing as per recommended.

For Example, with regards to JVM tuning of heap and generic parameters recommended.

Heap Settings:
Initial: 6144m / Maximum: 6144m (Recommended)
Initial: 4096m / Maximum: 4096m (Minimum)

Generic Parameters:

Code cache: -Xcodecache32m

Garbage collection: -Xgcthreads4

.

There is a now a section for SQL Server Database tuning recommendations.

.

For Integration, there is a recommendation to turn the parameter "Retain MBOs" to OFF to prevent performance and memory issues.

This ensures existing MBO are discardable and avoids the unnecessary build up of MBO count.
