MariaDB failed to start will cause RTM FATAL error

Troubleshooting


Problem

The RTM stopped working, opened the RTM web page, the error message displayed: FATAL: Cannot connect to MySQL server on 'localhost'. Please make sure you have specified a valid MySQL database name in 'include/config.php'

Cause

The MariaDB failed to start due to the PID file could not be created correctly.

Diagnosing The Problem

Check the /var/log/mariadb/mariadb.log, and you can find the error messages:

Resolving The Problem

Grant the full read/write permission to /var/log/maraidb/, restart MariaDB related daemons, all work well.
