Problem

This technote explains why the error, The document contains macros. Macro language support for this application is disabled. Features requiring VBA are not available. Would you like to open this document read-only, might occur when taking an IBM® Rational® RequisitePro® offline.

Cause

Microsoft® Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is not installed or enabled for Microsoft Office applications.

Resolving The Problem

You cannot create or run VBA macros in any Office program if VBA is not installed or disabled. When taking a document offline, macros are included in the document to create the RequisitePro offline menu you see in Word. To resolve the issue install VBA by modifying the Microsoft Office installation.
